On July 24, 2024, a meeting took place between the Minister of Preschool and School Education, Hilola Umarova, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Uzbekistan. The primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and exploring opportunities for joint work on reforms and projects in this area.
Parties discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in the field of education. It was noted that Uzbekistan and the UAE could significantly benefit from exchanging experiences and knowledge in educational reforms and innovations. 
During the meeting, specific steps were discussed for joint work on reforms and projects in education. In particular, the parties considered the possibilities of integrating advanced technologies into the educational process, developing new curricula, and improving the professional training of teachers.

One of the key issues discussed was attracting international partners for investment and grant projects in education. The parties explored opportunities for cooperation with international organizations and funds and discussed attracting private investors. It was emphasized that attracting additional resources and partners could significantly accelerate the reform process and ensure the sustainable development of the education system in Uzbekistan.

The UAE Ambassador shared his country’s successes in education. The United Arab Emirates has achieved significant results in developing its education system, including through the introduction of innovative technologies and creating conditions for the comprehensive development of students. Key indicators include a high literacy rate, modern educational institutions and programs, and active participation in international educational initiatives.

Special attention during the meeting was given to the upcoming Central Asian Education Forum in Tashkent. The Minister noted that the Forum would be an important platform for exchanging experiences and discussing current issues in education development in the region. The UAE expressed its readiness to actively participate in the forum and share its achievements and best practices in education.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE in education would be an important step towards creating a high-quality and competitive education system in both countries.
